What are your specific gifts, skills, offerings? What is God placing on your heart? Maybe it’s not something you think you’re skilled in, but something He is calling you to be stretched in?

As we come together as a community, we each bring unique giftings and skills. It’s a beautiful thing to contribute and be part of the church body, not out of obligation or guilt, but to be God’s hands and feet and for those around you to enjoy the fruits (read John Chapter 15 in the Bible to know why we’re using this language) of your gifts.

There are many ways you could get involved. A good place to start would be reflecting on what Jesus says about serving (hint: it’s not about us!) and then, think about the unique way you were made and how you could bless others, build God’s kingdom and be ‘the church’ using your personal passions and skills.

You may be someone who loves to serve in the background (packing or setting up, working on communications and media) or be skilled in music, practical things like building, making meals or relationally connecting with people.

Serving vs being on mission everyday

One of our key values as a Church is ‘People over Programs.’ As a part of this, all of you have passions and gifts that God uses outside the walls of the Church. You may be a stay at home mum, you might drive a bus or teach or care or work with money - whatever your ‘9-to-5’ may look like, all of it is ministry, and all of it is for the Glory of God. We champion these everyday movements alongside you! The ministry you do at HVBC should compliment and empower the ministry that happens in other spaces.

However you are made, or want to grow, we would love to talk to you about how you could serve.
