Prayer speaks to the primal human need to connect with our maker, it’s part of the way God made us. It can be our first connection with God. A moment in our lives of desperation or despair that sees us call out to a God we didn’t even know we believed in.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
— Jeremiah 29:12

Jesus is recorded in the Gospels just over a dozen times praying, along with parables and teaching on the subject. He spoke directly about prayer in Matthew 6:5, calling out religiousness and babble and finished with how to pray, commonly known as ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ (Matthew 6:9-13). He turned to prayer in times of trouble, often prayed in solitude and relied on prayer as a sort of spiritual recharging.

It’s a mysterious and juxtaposed thing prayer. On one hand, a simple, basic desire for communication with our maker – a child with their parent. On the other, an action we are promised has power – offering a priceless point of contact with the creator of the universe.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:13-14

Earnest prayer naturally evokes questions and thoughts…what is answered or not, what influence our prayers have on the events of the world (big and small) etc. We don’t have the answers, only Jesus to look at and learn from.

“I first look to Jesus for clues to the mysteries of the faith, regarding prayer he did not seem to share some of my biggest struggles. He never wondered whether God exists, whether anyone is truly listening. He never questioned the importance of prayer; indeed, he would flee a crowd of needy people in order to spend time alone with God, and sometimes devote all night to the task. The way Jesus talked, prayer made everything else possible.
Jesus seemed fully at ease with the Father and at unease with the world. For him, prayer provided a refreshing reminder of cosmic reality, the ‘view from above’ so often obscured on planet earth…”
— Philip Yancey. Prayer, does it make any difference?

Immerse Nights (Prayer Service)

We dream to see the whole church involved in Prayer Tuesdays where we commit to pray and fast for the day. On the fourth Tuesday of each month, we meet at the church building for an Immerse Night. We believe that one day this will be our biggest service! We want to see a culture continue to grow, where people come expecting to hear from God and ready to speak words of life to others. We want to see a prophetic generation rise who will speak what isn’t, into what is!

Intercession Team

We are excited to see our existing intercession team grow and become more equipped to serve God and serve people. This team aims to see effective, accessible, regular prayer ministry happening where we will see the power of God through healing and deliverance at work in people’s lives from both inside and outside the church.
