LEAD PASTOR - David (Doc) O’Connor

Doc has been the Lead Pastor of HVBC since mid-2023. He is married to Amity and together they have four sons. He’s a decent cricketer and golfer, and the most passionate Canberra Raiders fan you’ll probably ever meet. Doc came to faith in Jesus at age 15 and is passionate about seeing young people know and encounter Jesus, and be championed in their calling within and beyond the church. Doc also leads HVBC’s “sister church” NewHope Church, just down the road in the Hills District - which he has done so since late-2017.

ASSOCIATE PASTOR - Amity O’Connor

Amity has been our Associate Pastor since mid-2023. She is passionate about seeing people and families flourish in worship and relationships. Before entering ministry, Amity was a Year Advisor in a local Christian school. She loves reading, travelling and hanging out with friends and family. Amity plays a key role in our church’s sense of community - both pastorally and organisationally.

Church Leaders take on the role of Spiritual oversight AT HVBC.

Church Leader ensure that we stay true to our God-given mission and values, as well as provide accountability to the Pastoral Team. They bring diversity of perspective and gift to the church and are leaders with whom the people of the church can turn.

Church Leaders are elected by the members of HVBC.
