Recently a singles group has formed in connection with HVBC and a number of Sunday lunches have been shared. It is often difficult to form a network of friends and find something you can do at a time that's convenient when you are single or single again with responsibilities for kids as well. If you would like to connect with other singles, then you can join our email list and get all the info on events coming up to make sure you don’t miss out! Use the email form on the "Contact Us" page and let us know of your interest.

Developing a feeling of belonging at HVBC is about forming relationships that allow you to get beyond the superficial. Those kind of relationships won’t come by simply attending worship services. Whether kids or adults, all of us need time with a smaller group of people who can get to know us personally, share life with us, and encourage us to pursue Jesus Christ. Many groups meet at various times and there is sure to be one to suit your needs. The groups vary greatly - they meet on different days, at different times and some meet weekly while others meet fortnightly. The emphasis is different within the groups - some focus more on Bible Study, others on prayer while for some the main purpose of the group is Christian fellowship. Those who attend groups cover a wide age group and there are meetings in locations throughout the Hawkesbury. The material the groups study is chosen by the group and/or the leaders. About once a year the Church is involved in an integrated study where most of the groups study the same material .
The benefits of being part of a small group are numerous. In a large church it is important to relate to a group of people where you feel known, accepted and cared for. Small groups provide this as well as the opportunity for fellowship, learning and growing through study, discussion, prayer and fun.
