Men often try the DIY approach to achieving the goals in their lives, only to discover that their belief system is not big enough to satisfy their most basic needs for love, respect, acceptance, peace, meaning, joy, security and significance.
It is only as they see their lives in the context of faith in God that they find the key. At HVBC there are opportunities for men to come together in small groups or one-on-one to encourage each other in their faith and life journey. The are also two all-male life groups - one for younger and one for older men.
We also encourage them to reach out to their friends and neighbours, to share their discoveries about life and faith in everyday contexts. Special events and retreats are also arranged from time to time.
It is said: "The bigger the boys, the bigger the toys!" Well, here is an excuse to get your toys out for a weekend, whether it is your boat, 4WD or your golf clubs, or whatever else you may have. Bring them up to Wangi Wangi for a weekend with the guys on Lake Macquarie.
Scheduled activities will include 4WDing, golf, water skiing and men's breakfast (cost $5). Other possible activities are boating (the holiday park is right on the lake with its own boat ramp), bushwalking (the Wangi Point Flora and Fauna Reserve is right next door to the holiday park) fishing, bike riding. The possibilities are endless!
OK, so you decide you want to come ... Now, what do you need to do? You will need to book your accommodation at Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park. When you book, tell them you are a part of the HVBC group. You will need to book as early as possible, as accommodation is on availability.
