“My thirst for adventure led me into Scouts, SES, RFS and other groups, where I found comradeship, new skills and opportunities to help in emergencies. At 25, I met Liz at a Rotary event and we married, raising three children. With Liz’s encouragement I joined a men’s Bible group where I realized God is real and in control. Up to then I had been searching for satisfaction through adventure and family, but always felt there was “something else”. This feeling disappeared when I accepted the Bible as Truth. My Christian journey has been slow and steady but has brought joy and contentment. I now run a general engineering business with 40 employees and life is more of an adventure than ever!” |

“At School I became best friends with Jenny, who was always bubbly and full of fun. My friendship with her led me to church and my own faith in God as well as a wonderful circle of friends. After the HSC I completed a Business Degree (Accounting) and have recently become a Chartered Accountant. Today, I am an Auditor with Deloitte, and enjoy the experiences and wide client base my job provides. I am passionate about my profession and using my skills to help others. I devote a day a month to serving the church in the arena of finances, releasing others to devote their time and talents to the things God has called them to do.” |

“We met on a cruise ship in 1973. Dave was a widower and I had divorced an unfaithful husband. I believe God caused us to meet; it was love at first sight! Between us, we brought six children to the marriage then had another daughter together. Raising a family of seven children was a challenge in so many ways. We derived incredible love and support from the church, which is full of ‘average’ but very special people. We still love each other heaps and we love our kids. We also love the wonderfully diverse range of great people that make up our church, who still support and bless us.” |

“After giving my life to Jesus when I was eight, I was raped by a member of my family. In my teens, I became self-destructive, embracing a lifestyle that revolved around sex, alcohol and drugs. None of my relationships were healthy. Although I had had a spiritual awakening as a child, i became confused because of my pain, anger, and rebellion. In my twenties I met my future husband, but continuing in my anger against God, we ended up having an abortion. This event caused us both to begin searching. We went to our local church where we found friendship, forgiveness, and direction. I am so grateful to God for His steadfast love for me and to His church, who stand by me.” |

“We got married in 1998 but didn’t ‘click’ as we expected. We found it impossible to work through recurring differences and ended up existing together, often in bitter arguments or a stalemate situation. We met an older couple in our local church who started praying with me; asking God’s guidance for our lives and our marriage. Over time, Jacob and I started communicating properly, working through old issues and growing in trust. Then we started praying together, and things really improved! Now we are happy with each other, confident and secure. I know that the peace, affection and security we have would not have been possible without God, or His people who helped us.” |
