“And Can It Be” was written by Charles Wesley, and first published in 1738. It was an era of poetry writing and tunes were known by names and could fit a selection of poems. Little is known of Thomas Campbell whose triumphant tune "Sagina", composed in 1820, became inextricably linked to this song. Phatfish and Lou Fellingham bring a fresh, meditative sense of awe to this classic hymn.
