The idea of community carries such a range of meanings from the loose connections which happen to join us with others to the deepest levels of sharing and commitment. When we talk about our church as a community, we remember that those who follow Christ share bonds of unity with each other through Him. So "community" conveys a "common unity", a unity of purpose, sharing life together, joint participation, intimacy, a jointly contributed gift in which we share who we are and what we have with each other.
We also live in a community, surrounded by neighbours. Those with whom we work, play sport, share leisure, share bonds of family and friendship also form part of our community.
This section seeks to give you an insight into HVBC as a community of faith, as well as the different ways in which our church is meeting the needs of the people amongst whom we live.
