John Swanson from Art + Psalms

In His Steps is also the name of a classic book by Charles Monroe Sheldon first published in 1896. It became a best seller of all time with more than 30,000,000 copies sold. Though Christians through the centuries have focussed on imitating Christ, the book's subtitle: What Would Jesus Do? probably rings a bell for people today. You may think the author made a miint out of it, but his publisher messed up tying up the copyright.

There's a Librivox (volunteer reader) audiobook version on Youtube. You'll also find a copy in the Church Library at the end of the yellow hallway opposite the office.

In His Steps was made into a black and white film in 1964. Older people may remember the song from the film - "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked". You can find clips from the original version on Youtube. Standing Sun Productions released a modern day adaptation in 2013.

"When a homeless man interrupts the comfortable routine of First Church of Raymond, life will never be the same for the apathetic congregation. Five people are thrust into a journey of discovering what life is like beyond Christianity as usual."
